This delicious cheddar cheese bread is perfect for breakfast or as a side dish to any meal.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
- 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese (shredded)
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 2 tbsp honey (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder if using. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, egg, melted butter, and honey if using.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
- For a sweeter bread, include the honey. For a savory twist, add herbs or spices of your choice.
