Description

A delicious almond flour layer cake tinted with gel food coloring and layered with chocolate ganache.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Gel food coloring (red and green)
  • ½ cup chocolate ganache (for layering)
  • Parchment paper (for baking)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line three 9×13 inch pans with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in almond flour and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Divide the batter into three bowls. Tint one red, another green, while keeping the last layer plain.
  4. Spread each colored batter into its own prepared pan and bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden. Allow to cool completely.
  5. Layer the cooled cakes with chocolate ganache between each layer and refrigerate for about two hours before cutting into squares.

  • This cake can be decorated with additional frosting or edible decorations if desired.
