A delicious almond flour layer cake tinted with gel food coloring and layered with chocolate ganache.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 3 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Gel food coloring (red and green)
- ½ cup chocolate ganache (for layering)
- Parchment paper (for baking)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line three 9×13 inch pans with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in almond flour and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Divide the batter into three bowls. Tint one red, another green, while keeping the last layer plain.
- Spread each colored batter into its own prepared pan and bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden. Allow to cool completely.
- Layer the cooled cakes with chocolate ganache between each layer and refrigerate for about two hours before cutting into squares.
Notes
- This cake can be decorated with additional frosting or edible decorations if desired.
- Ensure that the cakes are completely cooled before layering to prevent melting of the ganache.
