Description
Delicious homemade cheesy beef and veggie breadsticks, perfect for a snack or appetizer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef or thinly sliced ribeye steak
- 1 cup bell peppers, thinly sliced
- 1 cup onions, thinly sliced
- 6 oz provolone or American cheese, sliced or shredded
- 1 lb pizza dough or pre-made breadstick dough
- 2 cloves garlic, minced or 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1–2 tbsp olive oil or butter (for sautéing and brushing)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté the thinly sliced onions and bell peppers until tender and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the ground beef or ribeye strips, season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder or minced garlic, and cook until the meat is browned and cooked through.
- Stir in the cheese and mix until melted and fully combined with the beef and vegetables.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle about ½ inch thick.
- Cut the dough into strips approximately 1 to 2 inches wide and about 6 inches long, sized appropriately for folding over the filling.
- Place a spoonful of the cheesy beef and veggie mixture along the center of each dough strip.
- Fold one edge of the dough strip over the filling and pinch the edges firmly to seal the seam to prevent filling from leaking during baking.
- Arrange the sealed breadsticks seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops with melted butter or olive oil.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and crispy on the outside.
Notes
- For extra flavor, feel free to add your favorite herbs or spices to the beef mixture.
- If using pre-made dough, make sure to follow the package instructions for best results.
