Instructions
- Whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs, vegetable oil, buttermilk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Stir in the hot water slowly until a smooth batter forms.
- Line a cupcake tin with paper liners and fill each 2/3 full with batter.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 18–20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cupcakes cool completely on a wire rack.
- Beat butter and peanut butter together until creamy.
- Gradually add powdered sugar, mixing until fluffy.
- Add a splash of milk if needed to thin the frosting.
- Pipe the frosting onto cooled cupcakes.
- Drizzle with caramel sauce and top with chopped Snickers.
