Description

This creamy chicken dish is perfect for a comforting meal, served warm over noodles, potatoes, or rice.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • ⅓ cup sour cream
  • ⅓ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken and sear in olive oil over medium-high heat until golden and cooked through. Set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add butter and sauté onion until soft. Add garlic and mushrooms, cooking until browned.
  3. Sprinkle flour over vegetables and stir well. Gradually pour in chicken broth, scraping the bottom of the pan.
  4. Stir in Dijon mustard, paprika, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for a couple of minutes.
  5. Add sour cream and heavy cream, stirring until smooth. Return chicken to the skillet.
  6. Simmer gently until the sauce thickens and everything is heated through.
  7. Garnish with parsley and serve warm over noodles, potatoes, or rice.
